MY ROTARY STORY – ROTARIAN PATIENCE JOHN BASSEY
Dear Friends, you do not have to stay so long in Rotary to have a Story to Tell. The reason you Joined Rotary may just be all your prospect(s) need to hear to motivate them too.
If you’re in doubt? Then you just have to read from ROTARIAN PATIENCE JOHN BASSEY, a charter member of Rotary Club of Uyo Capital City on #MyRotaryStorySeries.
He has been my Facebook Friend for years and all I knew about him was that he is a Rotarian- although it didn’t make meaning to me then.
I later noticed that each time he commented on my posts that had to do with rendering assistance or help, he used phrases like:
‘Rotary needs you’
‘Come to Rotary’
‘You are invited to Rotary’.
This was District Governor Nominee Akan Emah ‘disturbing’ me publicly!😅😁🙌👏
Yes, in the course of my Professional Assignments, I do read Rotary stories but never gave a thought to becoming a member until the invitation by DGN Akan Emah.
Fast Forward to March this year, I had an inbox message reminding me of Rotary’s Fellowship. I affirmed that I will be available and boom, That’s how I opened the window for DGN Akan Emah who ensured that I opened the door to service👏👏💃💃🥳🥳.
Today, I am a chartered member of Rotary Club of Uyo Capital City and since I joined the organization, the story has been heartwarming.
My intention, however, was to attend the Fellowship once and leave in a bit to satisfy my host but all that changed with the warm reception I got and the aura of Friendliness among Rotarians I met there🥳🥳🥳🥳😘💝.
This unique organization has so far broadened my horizon on issues, deepened my interest in reaching out to others as well as provided me a platform to have fun with people of like-minds.
With Rotary, I see Professionalism in a different perspective while the 4-Way Test is now my second Bible.
Thank you Rotary.
